A-Katsastus IT-support is managed with Nomis HelpDesk system

Cooperation between Nomis and A-Katsastus Oy started in spring 2008. A-Katsastus is one of the leading operators in Europe, when it comes to periodic motor vehicle inspections, condition examinations and registration services. The range of services covers also driving test services, sales of vehicle parts, and damage inspections and testing services for automobile industry. A-Katsastus has operations in Finland, Poland, Latvia, Sweden and Estonia.

Using Nomis HelpDesk is familiar for Ari Järvinen, who works as Chief Information Officer for A-Katsastus. Among other areas, he is responsible for decisions related to IT production and data centers, coordination for IT production projects, Microsoft agreements and hardware purchases. In addition, he takes responsibility for servers and information security at A-Katsastus. Playfully Järvinen describes himself as the “jack of all trades”. Järvinen’s office is located at the headquarters at Pitäjänmäki, Helsinki. “There are four persons working with me here at Pitäjänmäki from our support services. In addition, one person is working at Lahti. Annually we handle approximately 7,000 support requests”, tells Järvinen.

“Before we implemented the system, receiving and handling of support requests was disorganized, and even overlapping of work could not be avoided. We selected Nomis HelpDesk system, as it was the best match with A-Katsastus Oy’s requirements, was available in Finnish language, and was more flexible as a system than its competitors”, says Järvinen.

“We have moved from leasing devices to our own ones, and we also purchased device register module for Nomis HelpDesk system. The device register and the weekly reports that I get out of the system have been excellent, in my opinion. Nomis has surprised me positively also otherwise, they are capable with many matters, and things get handled flexibly and fast”, Järvinen rejoices.
